Sad Eyes

Updated: May 1, 2020

There is an air of beauty, that comes from every sorrow...

Oh Dear Heart,

Twisted in a knot of pain,

Where reason and knowledge,

Are challenged in a contradictory world.

May I catch a glimpse,

Of this mystery within my soul,

For even I am protected from myself.

When barraged with bullets,

I smile through the pain,

Refuse to give in,

I tell jokes.

Knowing full well,

That the more that they laugh,

The deeper the slice,

But these are the things,

Unseen by any eyes.

And as I stand alone,

In a crowd,

My heart screams words,

In silence,

that only He will hear,

Even to me,

The words are unclear.

I am comforted,

In rare encounters of the sun,

Shining through the rain,

Knowing that an icy glare,

May burn and injure me.

But His fire, can cool,

My suffering heart,

Yielding tears of happiness and of joy,

And break through,

All of this deafening noise.

I catch a glimpse,

Of the bumpy road that runs straight,

As he is hidden in plain sight,

There is strength in letting go,

Of all of the pain I hold inside.

Unsure in my thoughts,

Of these ways of the world,

Where we run away from love,

To grow a heart,

Unspoken words, tear us apart,

Work to find rest,

Lie awake in restless sleep.

Then against all reason,

A light shines through a darkened night.

Only in silence, can I finally hear,

His ways are not our ways.

I fall to my knees,

As my soul rises in Faith,

Words,

Can never accurately explain.

My mind,

Can never fully understand.

I am,

Just a mortal man,

Who,

Must stand up,

To Fall to the ground,

Has been lost,

To be found,

Knows not my right,

From my left,

Weeps when happy,

Laughs when sad,

Lives in a world,

Where we’ve all gone mad.

Dangerous hearts,
Blinded by bias,
Only forgiveness can triumph.
Only a God with the purest of love,
Can bring the light of life,
Through the dark,
By Death on a Cross.
